The Demon Deacons earn the honor for a sixth straight year.
LEXINGTON, Ky. – For a sixth consecutive year, Wake Forest volleyball has earned the annual Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), presented by the United States Marine Corps and announced by the organization on Monday afternoon.
Initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, the annual award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
Collectively, the Demon Deacons impressed in the classroom to produce a 3.67 team GPA for the 2024-25 school year. The team also earned the additional distinction of AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, representing the top 20% of GPAs nationally by division.
"I am so honored to be part of such a hardworking and disciplined volleyball team on and off the court," said head coach Jeff Hulsmeyer. "The AVCA Team Academic Award is a reflection of a team's dedication, work ethic and commitment to excellence in the classroom. I can't be more happy for the players and their families. I also want to recognize Associate Director of Student-Athlete Services Christia Fisher and the rest of the student-athlete services staff for all the work they do to support our students."
Back in February, Wake Forest placed 10 individuals on the 2024 Volleyball All-ACC Academic Team:
