Pow, Rottgering Earn ACC Doubles Team of the Week Honors

The duo helped the Demon Deacons to a 2-0 start for the fifth-consecutive season.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wake Forest men's tennis standouts Luca Pow and Mees Rottgering were named the ACC Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, after helping the Demon Deacons open the spring season with a pair of dominant victories.
The duo powered Wake Forest to a 2–0 start for the fifth-consecutive season, clinching the doubles point in both matches on Sunday with a pair of 6-2 victories. Pow and Rottgering defeated Bezzaz/Ruy of Saint Joseph's before following it up with a win over Listo/Luethi of ETSU.
"It feels great to open the season 2–0 and be named ACC Doubles Team of the Week," Pow said. "Playing with Mees for the first time was a great experience — we clicked early and really pushed each other on the court. Getting two wins right away and being recognized like that is a big confidence boost as we keep building this season."
A year removed from winning 38 of 41 doubles points, Wake Forest picked up right where it left off by dominating the opening point in both matches. With the first doubles victory of the day alongside Rottgering, Pow surpassed 150 combined singles and doubles wins as a Demon Deacon. He later backed it up with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 singles win on court one. Pow now owns a 79-16 singles record and a 73-18 mark in doubles during his Wake Forest career.
The honor marks Pow's second career ACC Doubles Team of the Week selection, having last earned the accolade on April 15, 2025.

Wake Forest will now hit the road for two tough tests against SEC opponents as it visits Tennessee (Jan. 18) and No. 2 Texas (Jan. 21).
The Deacs will return home for ITA Kickoff Weekend (Jan. 23-24) as it welcomes Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt and North Carolina to the ITC for a spot in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
