Wake Forest Concludes First Day at Darius Dixon Invitational

Junior Seren Rodgers recorded a personal-best time of 8.63 seconds in the women’s 60m hurdles.
LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Wake Forest Track and Field team concluded their first day of competition at the Darius Dixon Invitational on Friday afternoon at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
Junior Seren Rodgers opened the afternoon by recording a personal-best time of 8.63 seconds in the women's 60m hurdles semifinals. The Taunton, England native had matched her previous personal-best time of 8.67 seconds during the preliminary rounds in order to secure a semifinal spot.
Rodgers ended her afternoon by clinching a top-10 result in the women's long jump by recording a distance of 5.85 meters.
Elsewhere, sophomore Savannah Simmons recorded a distance of 5.80 meters in the women's long jump, while senior Casey Sullivan logged a throw of 14.60 meters in the women's weight throw.
