Wake Forest was the best team in the country in 2023 at drawing a free 90 feet with 424 on the season, good for 11 more than any other team. Wake currently ranks 10th in the country with 62 walks through the first eight games, including 15 free passes in the series finale against Siena.
Outgun The Opposition
Since 2022, Wake Forest's starting pitchers have outlasted or matched their counterparts in 180 of 256 games (70.3%). During that time frame, the Deacs are 148-31-1 (.822), going 34-9-1 in 2022, 48-4 in 2023, 32-8 in 2024, 28-10 in 2025 and 6-0 to start the 2026 campaign. On the flip side, Wake is 31-45 (.408) in the 76 games where opposing pitchers have had a longer outing.
Bullish Bullpen
The Wake bullpen has been one of the strongest in the country so far, with a 1.46 ERA in 37.0 innings of relief through the first seven games. The bullpen alone has struckout 64 batters, which outpaces 154 other D1 programs' total strikeouts between both starters and relievers.
