The Deacs will be back in action Sunday with a doubleheader against Georgia Tech and SC State.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – For the ninth time in 10 years, the No. 3-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team has opened its ACC campaign with a victory as it took down No. 28-ranked Clemson (4-7, 0-1 ACC), 4-0, Friday at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
The Deacs (13-2, 1-0 ACC) extended their home winning streak to a stellar 37 matches dating back to April of 2024. Since 2013, Wake Forest leads the nation in home wins with 233 and ranks second during that span in total wins with 369.
Additionally, Wake Forest has now won 16-consecutive ACC regular season matches following a flawless run last year and has now won 117 conference victories since the start of the 2013 campaign.
In doubles, the Demon Deacons took courts two and three as they opened the match with a 1-0 lead for the 12th time this season. On court three, junior Luca Pow and sophomore Charlie Robertson now have a team-high six wins as a pair following their 6-4 win over #62 Mesarovic/Farzam. Mees Rottgering and Kacper Szymkowiak teamed up for the first time together, en route to a strong 6-4 finish in second doubles.
Wake Forest then carried that momentum into singles, where it claimed courts three, five and six to close out the ACC opening victory.
Closing in on the top 10 in program history with 86 career singles wins, junior Luca Pow improved to 8-3 this campaign with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Matisse Farzam on court three. He has now contributed to 165 combined singles and doubles wins over the last three years, the most out of any active Wake Forest player.
Freshman Dominick Mosejczuk remained undefeated in his stellar first spring as a Deac, cruising to a 6-2, 6-4 win in straight-sets fashion. He joins Andrew Delgado and Cornelius Shalmi as the only Demon Deacons to not have lost a match in multiple appearances this season.
Extending his team-lead to 11 singles wins this season, sophomore Joaquin Guilleme continued his great run of form and took down Yannic Nittmann in sixth singles, 6-3, 6-3, clinching the match. He is now an incredible 20-1 overall in collegiate dual matches.

From Coach Bresky
"We had a great crowd again - obviously with the uncertainty of playing indoors or outdoors, things can become a bit tricky. Clemson has a very good team this year. We've had a tough non-conference schedule and loved having the opportunity to play this first ACC match in front of our fans. Our players were inspired by them and played a very good match. It is nice to get off to a 1-0 start in the ACC. We have a big doubleheader on Sunday and will hopefully get another great crowd – it should be some beautiful weather with a chance to play outdoors." – Head coach Tony Bresky
