The Demon Deacons split the weekend with a win over the struggling Eagles.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women's tennis (10-10, 2-6 ACC) put together a complete performance to earn an ACC win on Sunday afternoon, defeating Boston College (8-10, 0-8 ACC) 4-1. The always-reliable duo of Sankavi Gownder and Evie Oxford continued to dominate in singles play and Kady Tannenbaum delivered a clutch victory to seal the match for the Old Gold & Black.
Wake Forest went 2-1 in doubles and claimed the early point, just as it did on Friday against Syracuse. Nevena Carton and Kady Tannenbaum won their third consecutive doubles match, defeating Natalie Eordekian and Seren Agar 6-2. Evie Oxford and Sankavi Gownder took care of business in second doubles, and the Deacs were in the drivers' seat entering the singles session.
Oxford, playing up in second singles for the first time this season, made quick work of Agar to put the Deacs up two. Her doubles partner, Gownder, added to the Wake Forest lead with a dominant 6-3, 6-3 victory over Leyden Games.
Oxford (14-2) and Gownder (13-1) have been a force in the middle of the Wake Forest lineup this season. The two are now a combined 27-2 on the season.
Tannenbaum capped off a fantastic day with a straight-set win in fifth singles over Boston College's Nadi Barteck. After an arduous battle, the junior was able to pull out a pair of tiebreak victories over Barteck to seal the match for the Deacs. Tannenbaum won three of her four matches (doubles and singles) over the course of the weekend.
The win boosts Wake Forest into 10th place in the ACC. Next weekend, the Deacs will host Notre Dame (9th) and Louisville (13th) in a pair of important conference matches as the ACC Tournament approaches. The Louisville match will be the final home match of the season.

How It Happened
"Good solid performance today. We played a really good doubles point, especially Sankavi and Evie, and then we brought it in all six singles spots in the first sets, so we didn't make anything easy for them. I'm really impressed with our group coming back after a near four hour match on Friday and being ready to go. Plus, we responded to having another player out of the lineup, and players had to adapt to new roles in the singles lineup. Especially Evie, as a freshman, now going all the way up and getting a routine win in No. 2 singles. We have a big match with Notre Dame on Friday with them coming up with two big wins over Cal and Stanford this weekend."
