HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Demon Deacons jumped out to a 6-0 lead as they batted around in the top of the first.
- After a pair of walks by junior Javar Williams and sophomore Luke Costello, junior Kade Lewis lasered a three-run bomb to right field to put the Deacs on the board.
- Sophomore Matt Conte launched a solo shot the opposite way two pitches later to give Wake Forest a 4-0 lead.
- Sophomore Jackson Miller continued the one-out rally as he roped a double down the left field line to score junior Boston Torres from first.
- Junior Blake Schaaf got in on the action as he shot an RBI double into the right-center gap to make it a six-run game.
- Sophomore starting pitcher Troy Dressler picked up a shutdown frame in the bottom of the first.

- Costello rocketed his team-leading 14th home run of the season on a solo shot off the batter's eye to put the Demon Deacons up by seven.
- Lewis launched his second home run of the game a few pitches later to make it 8-0.
- Freshman JD Stein recorded a two-RBI single with two away and the bases loaded to push the lead to double digits.
- Georgia Tech scored three runs in the bottom of the second.

- Dressler bounced back with a shutdown third as he fanned a pair of Yellow Jackets in the process.
- Junior right-hander Blake Morningstar needed just eight pitches to retire Georgia Tech in order in the bottom of the fourth.
- The Yellow Jackets tacked on a pair of runs in the fifth to make it 11-5.
- Georgia Tech added four more in the sixth.
- The Yellow Jackets took a 14-11 lead in the bottom of the seventh.

FROM COACH WALTER
"It's a disappointing loss. Obviously, we've got to find a way to win that game being up 10-0. There were a couple big momentum plays in the game. The pickoff at second base I thought was a big momentum play. We had a chance to get that lefty out of the game there. They had the bullpen going, and they had a guy on the mound that hadn't had a ton of success this year and had walked a bunch of guys. After that pickoff, he got it rolling. You got to tip your hat to the young man. He threw the ball well, but we got to do a better job. They did a good job of sitting on curveballs against [Rhys] Bowie and [Marcelo] Harsch. They just kept finding a way. They didn't hit the ball hard, but they found a way to find holes and sold out on pitches. We did not do that. We need to come out tomorrow and we need a good start out of [Cameron] Bagwell. We're going to be short on the mound tomorrow, but we got some bullets left. We got [Ryan] Bosch, [Zach] Johnston, [Will] Ray, [Grant] Nicholson, [Ryan] Brennecke and [Tyler] Wood, so we got lots of bullets left tomorrow. We need to score some runs and find a way to get some zeros." - Head Coach Tom Walter
