Wake Forest Closes Regular Season at Duke

The Demon Deacons' eight-game win streak ranks second in the country entering the weekend.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest baseball team concludes the regular season with a three-game ACC series against Big Four rival Duke this weekend in Durham.
The Deacs lead the all-time series by a 169-140-3 margin, dating back to 1897, and have taken two of the last three series in Durham.
The first two games of the series can be streamed on ACC Network Extra. Saturday's action will air nationally on the ACC Network with Mike Ferrin and Devon Travis on the call.

Thursday (6 p.m.) – So. RHP Chris Levonas (9-3, 3.18 ERA) vs. Jr. RHP Peter Lemke (2-5, 5.59 ERA)
Friday (6 p.m.) – So. RHP Troy Dressler (7-1, 4.74 ERA) vs. Sr. RHP Aidan Weaver (4-7, 6.42 ERA)
Saturday (3 p.m.) – So. RHP Cameron Bagwell (2-1, 4.85 ERA) vs. Gr. RHP Andy Leon (2-4, 6.70 ERA)
Outgun the Opposition
• Since 2022, Wake Forest's starting pitchers have outlasted or matched their counterparts in 211 of 301 games (70.1%).
• During that time frame, the Deacs are 172-38-1 (.815), going 34-9-1 in 2022, 48-4 in 2023, 32-8 in 2024, 28-10 in 2025 and 30-7 during the 2026 campaign.
• On the flip side, Wake is 36-54 (.400) in the 90 games where opposing pitchers have had a longer outing.
Winning with Walt
• Head coach Tom Walter picked up his 950th career win in the Deacs 10-5 victory against No. 7 Coastal earlier this season.
• Currently in his 17th season with the Deacs, Walter has recorded the second-most wins in program history (533), trailing only Wake Forest Hall of Famer George Greer (636).
• Walter ranks second among active head coaches in the ACC, joining Avent as one of just two over the 900 mark.
Walk It Out
• Since the beginning of the 2022 season, the Demon Deacons have been the best team in the country in drawing walks with 1,855 during the timespan.
• Wake Forest led the country in 2023 with 424, ranked sixth in 2024 with 378, and were second a season ago with 390 free passes.
• Wake currently ranks tied for 10th in the country with 299 walks through 53 games, including double-digit free passes on four occasions so far this season.
• Wake Forest enters the series with Duke as one of just 15 programs over the 290 mark in walks to this point of the 2026 campaign.
