Demon Deacons Face Kentucky to Open Morgantown Regional

First pitch on Friday against the Wildcasts is set for noon on ESPN2.
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – One of just 13 teams to make the postseason in each of the last five seasons, the Wake Forest baseball team opens NCAA Tournament play against Kentucky on Friday, May 29, at noon on ESPN2 as the No. 2 seed in the Morgantown Regional hosted by West Virginia.
This is the Demon Deacons' 19th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance and marks the Deacs fifth-straight postseason appearance, tying the longest streak in program history since reaching five-straight tournaments from 1998 to 2002.
The Demon Deacons have made three College World Series appearances, highlighted by winning the program's first national championship in 1955 and a run to the semifinals in 2023. Overall, Wake Forest holds an impressive 55-37 record at the national tournament.

The Morgantown Regional is paired with the Los Angeles Regional. The winners of those two regionals will play in a Super Regional the following weekend (Friday, June 5 - Monday, June 8). In addition to No. 1 national seed UCLA, the regional features Virginia Tech, Cal Poly and Saint Mary's.
