Trio of Deacs Set to Compete at ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's tennis team continues its 2026 fall season with three Demon Deacons set to compete at the ITA Women's All-American Championships from Sept. 19-27 at the Cary Tennis Park.
Senior Sankavi Gownder and sophomores Claire Hill and Evie Oxford will represent the Deacs as they look to qualify for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, which will take place later this fall.
Hill will open competition on Saturday, Sept. 19 in the first round of pre-qualification. Gownder and Oxford will join the competition during the qualifying rounds, which are set for Monday, Sept. 21 and Tuesday, Sept. 22.
The main draw of the ITA Women's All-American Championships is set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Ten singles players will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship, including the eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists. Meanwhile, five doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the All-American Championships, including four main draw semifinalists and the consolation champion.

- Wake Forest opened its fall slate this past weekend as four Demon Deacons competed in the 39th annual Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic.
- In total, the Deacs combined for 10 wins across singles and doubles action.
- Senior Aubrey Nisbet led the Demon Deacons as she tallied five wins over the three-day tournament, highlighted by a doubles title alongside freshman Lillian Santos.
Last Year at the ITA Women's All-American Championships
- Four Demon Deacons competed in the 2025 ITA Women's All-American Championships last season.
- Krystal Blanch and Kady Tannenbaum both won their opening two matches in the pre-qualifying singles rounds.
- Nevena Carton was the lone representative for the Deacs in the qualifying rounds.
- The doubles teams of Blanch/Stella Li and Carton/Tannenbaum both earned a win in doubles pre-qualifying.
