No. 7 Wake Forest Remains at Home to Face Ohio

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 7 ranked Wake Forest field hockey team continues their 2026 season at home hosting Ohio University on Sunday at 12 p.m. ET.

Sunday's matchup is the first time the two teams will meet since 2023, where Wake defeated the Bobcats 2-1.

The Deacs are 8-2-1 all-time against Ohio, dating back to 1990.

Freshman Bianca Rees-Gibbs earned her first career goal against Iowa in her Wake debut.

After representing the USA at the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup, senior Mia Schoenbeck will make her season debut this Sunday against Ohio.

- Schoenbeck is the reigning ACC Offensive Player of the Year.
Juniors Lena Keller and Montag competed with Team Germany this summer and earned bronze medals at the EuroHockey U21 Women's Championship.
Nine-Time ACC Coach of the Year Jen Averill is in her 34th season at Wake Forest.
- She sits just eight wins away from her 450th win as a Demon Deacon.
