Five Deacs Selected for NFHCA Division I Collegiate Watchlist

Keller, Montag, Phume, Moore and Schoenbeck earn honors to start the season.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Five Wake Forest field hockey student-athletes were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Collegiate Watchlist as announced by the organization on Thursday morning.
Junior Lena Keller returns to the Deacons for her third season, after a solid sophomore year. Keller represented her home country of Germany at the EuroHockey U21 Women's Championship where she earned a bronze medal alongside Demon Deacon teammate Mia Montag.
Montag returns to Wake Forest for her junior year after being awarded 2025 ACC Defensive Player of the Year. The Berlin, Germany-native also earned First Team All-ACC team and First Team NFHCA All-South Region. Montag was the Deac's third highest points scorer (28) of all returning players this year.
Sophomore Reabetswe Phume joins as another Demon Deacon on this list after a strong freshman season. Phume earned ACC Freshman of the Year and started in all 20 games for Wake in her rookie year. She looks to build off last season and continue success into her sophomore year.
Senior Ava Moore joins the watchlist after earning First Team All-ACC and Second Team NFHCA All-South Region during the 2025 season. Moore played the third most minutes of any Deac last season and will be a key part of Wake Forest's offense this upcoming year.
Senior Mia Schoenbeck finds herself on the list after earning ACC Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-ACC and First Team NFHCA All-South Region in 2025. At the senior level for Team USA, senior Mia Schoeneck was selected to the U.S. Women's National Team for the 2026 FIH World Cup and competed in Belgium in August.

Demon Deacons on the NFHCA Division I Collegiate Watchlist The No. 7 ranked Wake Forest field hockey team begins the 2026 season at home hosting the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. The Deacs will take on No. 11 Iowa on Friday, August 28, at 6 p.m. ET, followed by a Sunday showdown with No. 14 Michigan at 2 p.m. ET. Both matches will be available on ACCNX.
