Wake Men's Tennis Players Successful At Clemson Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. -- The Wake Forest men's tennis team won one singles flight and one doubles flight here at the Clemson Invitational Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 3.
In singles, Wake's Mike Murray won the Flight B4 Singles Championship. Murray defeated Darren Knight of Clemson, 6-3, 7-5, Joe Basiger of Indiana, 6-2, 6-0, Patrick Gaughn of Furman, 6-3, 7-6 and Roger Anderson of Georgia Tech, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles, Murray teamed up with Michael Berger to win the Flight #1 Doubles Championship. The duo defeated a team from Clemson 8-6, then lost to a team from Indiana 5-8. Murray and Berger then came back to win the flight by defeating teams from Furman, 9-8 and Georgia Tech 8-2.
The Wake men's tennis team will be back in action on Oct. 7-10 when they travel to Athens, Ga. for the Southern Collegiate Championships.
