BOSTON - Wake Forest sophomore midfielder Katie Kubic's goal at 8:03 of the first half stood up as the No. 5 Demon Deacons downed the No. 14 Boston University Terriers, 1-0, in field hockey action Saturday night.

Kubic's goal was fired in from the left side of the circle.

Wake forest improves to 16-2 with the win, while Boston University drops to 15-5 with the loss.

Wake Forest goalie Meaghan Nitka had three saves to earn her 15th shutout, while B.U. goalie, senior Noreen Flanagan recorded four first half saves and sophomore Susan Harrington recorded two saves in the second half for the Terriers.

The Demon Deacons outshot the Terriers, 9-4 and held the advantage in penalty corner situations, 9-4 .

The game was the final regular season game for the Deacons, they will next be in action at the ACC Tournament to be held at Kentner Stadium Nov. 4,5 and 7.
