Demon Deacons Claim Four First Place Finishes

BLACKSBURGH Va. - Wake Forest claimed four first place finishes on the final day of competition at the 1999 Atlantic Coast Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet. The Deacons took first place in six events during the two-day event.
Nolan Swanson posted a time of 8:03.50 to win the 3,000m, settting a new ACC record. Swanson also finished second in the 5,000m with a time of 14:20.75.
Sophomore Janelle Kraus won her second individual championship of the weekend as she claimed first place in the 5,000m with a time of 16:42.31. Kraus also won the 3,000m on Friday.
Junior Jill Snyder won her first-ever ACC title as she claimed first prize in the one mile run with a time of 4:54.26. The Deacons' distance medley team won Wake's fourth championship of the day as they ran past second place Georgia Tech by nearly 16 seconds. Wake Forest finished the relay with a time of 11:40.26.
Reggie Austin earned All-ACC honors by placing second in the 60m dash with a time of 6.81.
As a team, the Deacons' men's squad finished in fifth place with 44.50 points, while the women's team finished eighth with 47.33 points.
