Track Competes at ACC Championships.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Sophomore Janelle Kraus and senior Nolan Swanson both won events for the second consecutive day as Wake Forest finished competition in the 1998 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the Walt Disney World Sports Complex in Orlando, FL on Saturday.
North Carolina won the women's team title while Clemson claimed its second straight men's championship. The Wake Forest women finished sixth in the meet and the Demon Deacon men finished seventh.
On Saturday, Kraus claimed the 5,000 meter run title with a time of 17:10.59. One day earlier she won the 3,000 meter run. Kraus is only the third Wake Forest performer to win two ACC events during the same meet. By virtue of her wins in the 3,000 and 5,000, she also earns All-ACC honors. That also makes her the third performer to earn All-ACC honors in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track during the same academic year.
Swanson, who won the 3,000 meter steeplechase on Friday, won the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:24.74. The Sherman, NY native earned All-ACC outdoor track honors for the first time during his career.
Hunter Kemper finished second in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 30:47.23. On the women's side, Chrissy Person and Jill Snyder both registered second place finishes. Person was second in the 800 meter run with a personal best time of 2:07.47 while Snyder was second in the 1,500 with a time of 4:32.01.
