BLACKSBURG, VA--The Wake Forest men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed at the ACC Championships held in Blacksburg, VA on Sunday and Monday.
Clemson claimed the men's title for the second straight season while the North Carolina women proved victorious for the sixth straight season. Both the men's and women's teams from Wake Forest finished ninth.
The lone bright spot for Wake Forest came from sophomore Janelle Kraus (Shelter Island, NY) who earned All-ACC honors with a second place finish in the 3,000 meter run. She finished with a time of 9:57.37.
Fellow sophomore Jill Snyder (Lewisburg, PA) finished fourth in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:17.02. Freshman Summer Shaw (Huntington Beach, CA) was fifth in the pole vault with a vault of 9'02.25". The Deacons' distance medley relay team finished fifth with a time of 12:02.27.
On the men's side, senior Ben Boyd (Marietta, GA) was fifth in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:22.21. Senior Hunter Kemper ran a time of 14:55.25 in the 5,000 meter run to finish eighth. The Wake Forest 4x400 meter relay team ended the race with a time of 3:19.76 to finish seventh.
