WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Jennifer Hoppe has been named an assistant coach for the Wake Forest University women's cross country and track & field teams. A former heptathlete at Stephen F. Austin University, Hoppe brings an enormous amount of knowledge to the Demon Deacon program.

Through her discipline, work ethic and vision she accomplished many honors as a collegiate athlete,? said head coach Annie Schweitzer Bennett. ?She can now share those skills with our young athletes.

Hoppe was a member of the Lady Jacks track team from 1995-2000, competing in the heptathlon. A four-time all-conference selection, Hoppe earned the highest point total at the 1999 Southland Conference Indoor Championships and the 1999 Outdoor Championships as well. Named the Southland Conference 1999 Outdoor Athlete of the Year, Hoppe qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 1999 and 2000. After earning All-American honors in 1999, Hoppe topped that feat by qualifying for the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials.

A 2000 graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, Hoppe earned a bachelors degree in Agribusiness.
