GREENSBORO, NC - The Wake Forest baseball team defeated UNC Greensboro 5-4 on the road on a blustery Tuesday night at UNCG Baseball Stadium. The Demon Deacons notch their ninth win in the last ten games and improve to 28-11 on the year overall.

The performance of three Wake Forest pitchers were the story of the game as they combined to strike out 13 Spartan batters without allowing an earned run. Freshman Kyle Sleeth made the start and earned his seventh win on the season going five innings and allowing five hits with four strikeouts.

Senior Josh Bartlett pitched three innings with just two hits and fanned seven batters, just one short of a career-high. Junior closer Dave Bush picked up his tenth save of the season while striking out two UNCG hitters.

The Wake Forest offense mustered only five hits in the frigid conditions. The game time wind chill was a mere 18 degrees but the vistors were aided by three Spartan errors. Shortstop Jamie Athas scored two runs and went two-for-three with an RBI single.

Wednesday at High Point, the Demon Deacons will try to get win number 500 at Wake Forest for head coach George Greer. The coach in his 14th year at Wake Forest would become only the seventh coach in ACC Baseball history to attain such a feat while a member of the conference.
