The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its final poll of the 2002 season today and Wake Forest (16-2) climbed to #2. This is the highest ranking of the season for the Demon Deacons, who clinched the ACC Championship on Sunday with a 4-0 shutout of Maryland.

The Deacs, who are currently riding a 15-game winning streak, are awaiting the announcement of the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship bracket to see where they will begin tournament play and who their opponent will be. The 16-team field and the four first and second round campus sites of competition will be announced tonight at 8 p.m. via a live internet selection show.
