Two Deacons Provisionally Qualify At Last Chance Meet

BLACKSBURG, VA - Carol Merritt and Nikeya Green from the Wake Forest women's track & field team provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships with individual performances this weekend at the Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet.
Merritt (So., sprints, Raleigh, NC) provisionally qualified in the 200m with a school-record breaking time of 23.96. She also placed eighth in the 400m with a time of 55.98.
Green (So., middle distance, Woodbridge, VA), who had already provisionally qualified in the 800m this season, shaved three-hundredths of a second off her career best time by running a 2:08.45. Shauna Danos (So, middle distance, Groton, MA) also set a personal record in the 800m with a 2:12.46.
Anne Bersagel (Fr., distance, Greeley, CO) beat her personal record in the 3,000m with a time of 9:45.92.

Wake Forest will return to action next weekend at the Notre Dame Last Chance Meet in South Bend, IN, where the Demon Deacons will try to qualify some more individuals for the NCAA Indoor National Championships March 8-9 in Fayetteville, AR.
