Miller And Coon Earn Junior All-American Honors

PALO ALTO, CA - The Wake Forest women's track & field team had three individuals compete this weekend at the USA Track & Field Junior Outdoor Championships at Stanford University. The Junior meet is open to anyone under the age of 20. Jill Miller, Danielle Coon and Tess Fath, who all just finished their freshman year at Wake Forest, each competed and performed well.
Coon placed seventh in the 5,000m with a personal best time of 17:12.96, earning Junior All-American honors. Miller was the runner up in the 3,000m with a personal best time of 9:37.72, earning Junior All-American honors as well. Fath finished 10th in the 1,500m with a time of 4:35.14.
Former Wake Forest women's track & field/cross country legends Jill Snyder and Janelle Kraus also competed this weekend at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, in the senior competition. Snyder, a five-time All-American for the Demon Deacons from 1997-2001, who is now an assistant coach for Wake Forest, placed ninth in the 800m with a time of 2:06.03, her best time of the season. Kraus, a five-time All-American for the Demon Deacons from 1996-2000, who is now a volunteer assistant coach for Wake Forest, finished ninth in the 10,000m with a time of 33:42.87.
