Bersagel, Green Earn All-ACC Accolades

Individual performances highlighted the final day of competition for the Wake Forest indoor track teams at the ACC Indoor Track & Field Championships Saturday in the University of North Carolina's Eddie Smith Field House. The women's squad finished the two-day event in sixth place with 53 points, while the men placed eighth with 19 points.
Nikeya Green took second in the 800M with a NCAA provisionally qualifying time of 2:08.25 and received All-ACC honors, while Adralyn Wendel came in seventh with a time of 2:16.65. Annie Bersagel earned All-ACC honors as well in the 3,000M with a second place finish, running a NCAA provisionally qualifying time of 9:33.13. Also in the 3,000M, Jill Miller took fourth with a time of 9:38.20, Anna Sherman in ninth with a time of 9:46.66, Erin Franklin placed 18th with a time of 10:06.54 and Courtney Lancashire in 26th with a time of 10:14.18. In the Mile, Sherman took fourth with a time of 4:51.93. The women's 4 x 400M relay team of Green, Shauna Danos, Jackie Muscente and Jill Kovalcik came in seventh with a time of 3:54.66. Lindsay Neuberger threw a 43-9.75 in the Weight Throw for 10th place, while Jen Leesman came in 14th with a mark of 36-1.5.
The men's 4 X 400M relay team finished in fifth place with a time of 3:20.36 and consisted of Eric Seely, Willie Idelette, Nathan Sisco and Paul Singleton. Seely ran a 49.56 in the 400M for eighth place, Brad Wharton took ninth in the Mile with a time of 4:16.64 and Josh Gattis came in seventh in the 60M Hurdles. In the 3,000M, Michael Altieri placed ninth with a time of 8:26.88, Brian Smith came in 14th with a time of 8:30.95, Sean Stevens finished 18th with a time of 8:33.94, Garick Hill ran a 8:35.88 for 19th, Brandon Bartholomew in 20th with an 8:37.13 and David Barrett took 28th with a time of 8:45.63. Fabian Davis jumped a 6-6 for eighth place in the High Jump, while Luke Orman placed ninth. Davis also competed in the Triple Jump, taking 14th with a mark of 47-5.0. Adam Gabrault finished eighth in the Weight Throw with a mark of 48-8.25.
Florida State won the men's competition with a team score of 135.50 and North Carolina took first on the women's side with a team score of 129.50. The Demon Deacons continue the indoor track season on March 1 at the Virginia Tech Last Chance Meet.
