Indoor Track Sends Three to NCAA Championships

Winston-Salem, NC - Three members of the Wake Forest women's indoor track & field team will represent the Demon Deacons at the 2003 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Championships will be held on Mar. 14-15 at the Randall Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, AK. A total of 540 participants will compete in the championships.
Junior Nikeya Green will compete in the 800M, while sophomores Anne Bersagel and Jill Miller will run in the 5,000M. Green, a two-time All-American, broke the school record in the 800M and qualified for NCAA competition at the USA Indoor Championships with a time of 2:05.43. Anne Bersagel qualified in the 5,000M this past weekend at the Notre Dame Alex Wilson Invite with a school record-breaking time of 16:15.06. Jill Miller provisionally qualified for the 5,000M at the ACC Championships with a time of 16:21.85 and was selected to compete at the NCAA Championships on Monday by the NCAA. All three Demon Deacons earned All-ACC honors earlier this season.
The 2003 NCAA Indoor Championships will begin Friday, Mar. 14 at 12:00 with the women's Weight Throw and will conclude Saturday night with the men's 4X400M Relay. Results will be available at www.flashresults.com.
