Neuberger Wins Shot Put at Charlotte Invite

Charlotte, NC - The Wake Forest men's and women's outdoor track & field squads were in action on Saturday at the Charlotte 49er's Invitational in Charlotte, NC. Highlighting today's events were Lindsay Neuberger, who threw a 48-6.75 for first place in the Shot Put, and Mike Altieri with a first place finish in the 800M, running a time of 1:53.35. Neuberger also placed 13th in the Hammer Throw.
Detra Chambers ran a 13.21 in the 100M for 15th and a 27.25 in the 200M for 17th. In the 1,500M, Molly Nunn ran a personal-best time of 4:45.61 for ninth place, Elizabeth Hagood took 10th with a 4:45.95, Denise Hefferin in 11th with a 4:47.55, Candy Hitchcock in 13th with a 4:50.67 and Kara Mullin in 25th with a 5:11.40. Jill Kovalcik jumped a 18-3 in the Long Jump for seventh place, took 10th in the 100M Hurdles with a time of 15.04 and 10th in the High Jump with a mark of 4-11. Jackie Muscente came in eighth in the 400M Hurdles with a time of 1:05.94, while Elizabeth Washam placed 10th in the Pole Vault with a time of 10-6.25. Jen Leesman threw a 38-6.25 in the Shot Put for seventh and took 16th in the Hammer Throw.
Raymond Harbert took 10th in the 100M and 17th in the 200M. Brad Wharton placed second in the 800M with a time of 1:53.74, while Garick Hill came in fourth in the 3,000M with a time of 8:50.40. Brian Smith placed sixth in the 1,500M with a 3:57.59 and Matt Busick came in 12th with a 4:03.56. Mike Eskind placed 10th in the 110M Hurdles, sixth in the Pole Vault and ninth in the Discus. Michael Piscetelli finished 13th in the Long Jump, 13th in the Discus and ninth in the Javelin. Adam Gabrault took seventh in the Hammer Throw. Tom Tymann came in third in the Shot Put and fifth in the Discus. Josh Carter placed eighth in the Shot Put and sixth in the Discus. Mike Hauck took third in the Javelin, while Zach Hamilton came in ninth.
