Green Finishes Seventh In Regional 800-Meters

Junior Nikeya Green finished seventh in the 800-meter finals, leading a group of Wake Forest track and field athletes at the NCAA East Regional in Fairfax, VA.
Green finished with a time of 2:08.40, scoring two points for the Deacons. The Wake Forest women's team finished 23rd out of more than 100 teams in the regional.
Also in women's competition, junior Catherine Fortin-Major finished 18th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:59.03. Junior Kara Mullin finished 28th in the steeplechase with a time of 12:02.53.
On the men's side, senior Mike Alteri finished 11th in the 1,500-meters with a time of 3:57.32. Senior Tom Tymann finished 25th in the shot put with a toss of 14.67 meters.
Wake's Anne Bersagel previously qualified for the NCAA Championships June 11-13 in Sacramento, CA, where she will represent the Deacons in the 10,000-meters.
