Green Earns All-American Honors In Outdoor 800m

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Nikeya Green, a middle distance runner on the Wake Forest women's track & field team, earned All-American honors in the 800m Saturday night at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Sacramento State University. Green finished eighth in the finals with a time of 2:04.93 and earned All-America honors in the outdoor 800m for the second year in a row.
A junior from Woodbridge, Va., Green is a four-time All-American and a three-time All-ACC selection. She also owns the school records in both in the indoor and the outdoor 800m.
Green joins teammate, Anne Bersagel, who earned All-American honors in the 10,000m Thursday night.
Both Green and Bersagel will return to action later this month when they head back to California to compete at USA Nationals at Stanford June 21-22. Green will compete in the 800m, Bersagel in the 5,000m and freshman Lindsay Neuberger will compete in the junior shot put.
