Seven Deacon Track Athletes Named All-ACC

GREENSBORO, N.C.-- The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the members of the outdoor track and field all-conference teams Tuesday. Five Demon Deacon women and two men received recognition on those lists for their accomplishments at the 2004 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships held last weekend in Chapel Hill. The Clemson men's team had 16 honorees while the North Carolina women led the way with 11 recipients.

Wake Forest had three individual champions last weekend at the championships, including Nikeya Green (800m), Annie Bersagel (10,000m) and Cassy Richards (Long Jump). Each of these athletes received all-conference honors and were joined by Lindsay Neuberger (Shot Put), Anna Sherman (1,500m), Michael Loyd (110m Hurdles) and Brad Wharton (1,500m) who all placed third or higher in their respective event.

The Demon Deacons will return to action this weekend at the Penn Relays.
