Louisville, Ky. - Junior Haley Scott scored a goal and added two assists to help the No. 1 Wake Forest field hockey team past No. 11 Louisville, 5-2, Saturday afternoon in Louisville, Ky.

Playing at the site of the 2005 NCAA finals, the Demon Deacons increased their overall winning streak to 15 and improved their season record to 11-0. In addition, Wake Forest increased its non-conference winning streak to 60.

Scott started things off for the Deacs just six minutes into the game when she scored the first goal off a pass at the center of the circle from freshman Christine Suggs. Taking 11 shots in remaining 30 minutes, the Deacs dominated the first half until a fast break at the 25 by Louisville's Jessica Javelet evened the score at one all. The shot by Javelet was the only of the half for the Cardinals.

The score did not remain tied very long as Maeke Boreel found Suggs in the middle of the circle just less than two minutes into the second half. Finishing it off, Suggs scored her seventh goal of the season.

From there, Wake Forest dominated, scoring three goals in a span of eight minutes. Scoring first off a penalty corner, Jamie Whitten put it in, with the assist from Lauren Crandall at 48:11. Then, three minutes later Scott passed the ball from the right side of the cage to the left where Kristi Harshman finished it off. Closing the trio of goals and earning her second assist of the day, Scott passed it to Boreel who lifted it into the cage at the 55 minute mark.

With just over a minute left to play and the score at 5-1, the Cardinals earned their only penalty corner of the game. Louisville's Lisa Wasser took the initial shot and Jen Kastelic tipped it in to close the game.

On the day, the Demon Deacons took 22 shots, while the Cardinals took two and scored off of both. Crandall led the charge for the Deacs with five shots, while Harshman followed closely with four.

Wake Forest will return to home to play Stanford, Monday, Oct. 10. Game time at Kentner Stadium is set for 4 p.m.
