Women's Tennis Falls At No. 27 Indiana

Bloomington, IN - The Wake Forest women's tennis team continued their seven match road swing Saturday falling at No. 27 Indiana in a hard fought match. The Demon Deacons were defeated 6-1 at the IU Varsity Tennis Center.
Wake Forest (3-2) struggled for the second match in a row as Alex Hirsch recorded the only singles victory in the Deacons loss to Indiana (3-2). Hirsch knocked off Cecile Perton at the number six singles position 3-6, 7-6, 10-6. Other notable singles matches include 16th ranked Karin Coetzee of Wake Forest falling to 90th ranked Dora Vastag 7-6 (2), 6-1 and 77th ranked Ashlee Davis of Wake Forest losing to Sarah Batty 6-4, 6-1.
In doubles play, the Deacons only victory came at the number two position. The team of Coetzee and Danielle Schwartz defeated Indiana's Laura McGaffigan and Brianna Williams 8-2. The wins for Indiana at the number one and three positions gave the Hoosiers the early doubles point in the match.
The Demon Deacons will continue their seven match road stand at Purdue on February 13 at 10:00am.
