
Annie Bersagel Named National Athlete Of The Week

Winston-Salem, NC - The United States Track Coaches Association announced that Josphat Boit of Arkansas and Annie Bersagel of Wake Forest have been selected as the Athletes of the Week for NCAA Division I track & field.
Annie Bersagel of Wake Forest :
Wake Forest senior Annie Bersagel was the top collegian in the 10,000 meters with her time of 33:02.13 at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. on Friday, March 25. Bersagel, already a two-time All-ACC and two-time All-American in the 10,000 meter race, shattered her own school record of 33:23.00, which she set in 2003. The time was also nearly a full minute faster than the automatic qualifying standard of 34:10.00. The Deacons return to action on Saturday at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga.
Josphat Boit of Arkansas :
Arkansas junior Josphat Boit ran a world-leading time of 28:07.27 en route to winning the 10,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. on Friday, March 25. The time also set a new Arkansas record and eclipsed the NCAA automatic standard of 29:00.00. The 78th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays are next on the schedule for the Razorbacks. Arkansas will send a full team to compete at the meet in Austin, Texas on April 7-9.
