Two Women's Tennis Players Ranked In ITA Top-75

Winston-Salem, N.C. - Redshirt sophomore Alex Hirsch and junior Ashlee Davis are ranked among the top-75 Division I college tennis players in both singles and doubles, as announced today by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. As a team, the Wake Forest women's tennis was pegged as the No. 24 team in the nation.
Previously ranked as the No. 92 preseason singles player, Hirsch was tagged as No. 42 after a strong fall. Finishing the short season with a team-best 10-2 record, Hirsch picked up the Flight 2 title at the St. Mary's Classic and swept the Kitty Harrison Invitational with a 3-0 mark in singles.
Davis spent the entire spring of 2005 ranked in the top-100 and was ranked as the No. 64 singles player entering the 2006 season. Finishing the fall with an 8-4 singles record, Davis won Flight 1 of the St. Mary's Classic and also swept the St. Mary's Classic with a 3-0 record.
