Alex Hirsch Named to Women's Tennis All-ACC Squad

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Redshirt sophomore Alex Hirsch was selected to the women's tennis All-Atlantic Coast Conference team, as announced by the league Wednesday.
Playing the entire season in the top singles spot for the Demon Deacons, Hirsch has compiled a 13-7 overall mark this spring. In conference play, the Atlanta, Ga. native is 5-6 while remaining nationally ranked throughout the spring season. Currently at No. 38, Hirsch enters the conference tournament with four victories over ranked opponents.
In addition, Hirsch is nationally ranked with partner Ashlee Davis in doubles. Currently at No. 50, the tandem has been as high as No. 23. Hirsch and Davis are 6-8 overall and 3-6 in the ACC. Overall, Hirsch is 14-17 in doubles this season.
The Demon Deacons (12-8, 5-6 ACC) enter the 2006 ACC Tournament on Thursday, April 20 as the seventh seed. They will face 10th-seeded Florida State at Noon.
