
No. 19 Women's Tennis Takes Down Eagles, 5-1

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS.- - The No. 19 Wake Forest women's tennis team opened its two-match weekend with a 5-1 routing of No. 65 Boston College, Friday afternoon. The win improves the Demon Deacons to 11-6 overall and 4-4 in the ACC, while the Eagles drop to 6-10 overall an 0-8 in the conference.
Wake Forest opened the match with a strong showing in doubles. Playing at the No. 2 position, Ana Jerman and Sierra Poske picked up their 11th victory of the spring with an 8-1 victory over Alina Sullivin and Sarah Svoboda. Christian Tara and Christine Simpson followed suit and captured the point for the Deacs with an 8-5 victory over Gia Nafarette and Lindsey Nash.
In the singles portion of the match No. 38 Alex Hirsch defeated Dasha Cherkasov, 6-4, 7-5 in the No. 1 position, while it was a 7-5, 6-3 victory by Ashlee Davis at No. 2 that clinched the match for the Demon Deacons.
Poske and Tara also took home singles victories with wins at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions, respectively. The teams did not play a sixth match due to time constraints.
