The Golf Coaches Association of America has named Wake Forest's Webb Simpson and Brendan Gielow All-Region performers in the South region.
PING All-Region teams consist of the top 15 individuals in their region in the Individual Ranking System.
Additionally, any player ranked in the top 75 according to Golfstat or the Sagarin rankings not included in their region's top 15 are added to their All-Region team.
Members of the PING All-Region teams are eligible for PING All-America honors.
Simpson, a senior, was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Player of the Year on May 5, becoming the first Deacon to win the award since Bill Haas in 2004. Simpson leads the conference and the Deacons squad with a 70.3 stroke average per 18 holes.
Simpson garnered ACC Championship individual honors and won the Western Refining All-America Golf Classic in November.
Gielow, a sophomore, was recently named Academic All-District by ESPN The Magazine and boasts the second-lowest stroke average on the Deacon squad.
Gielow recorded the best finish of his career earlier this month, a second-place finish at the NCAA Central Regional in Columbus, Ohio.
The Deacs are currently competing in the NCAA Championship in West Lafayette, Ind.
