Lady Deacs in Nashville. 9:30 pm.

Phew. That was a rough round. Let me start at the beginning. At 5:45 am this morning we were all up, dress and ready to dominate this tournament.

Allie was the first to tee it up and lead us through the round. After the first nine holes, none of us knew we were leading the field. Everyone was focused on their own game and keeping the ball in play.

However, when we made the turn, things were not going our way. We lost two balls on our 14th hole and one on the 17th hole. It was unfortunate that we could not find those balls, or it could have saved us a couple of shots. Apparently most of us got ahead of ourselves and started thinking of the outcome instead of the process. We were not focusing on the shots we were hitting but on the scores we needed for the holes.

During lunch, we analyzed each of our rounds carefully, going through the good things we did and what we need to improve for tomorrow. Then practice was focused on each individual's specific areas that needed improvement to play better.

We left the course at about 4:15 that afternoon with everyone feeling satisfied with practice and returned to the hotel with just enough time to shower before leaving for dinner at 5:30pm. We decided to have a parent's night tonight. Since Nannette and Allie's parents were here, Natalie, Cheyenne and I, joined the coaches at Carrabba's.

At 8:00pm, we had our usual team meeting, to go over certain holes that we had troubles on and to be more aware of our course management on those holes. We also talked about what each of us learned from our rounds today and what we have to focus on for tomorrow. We led the field without realizing by just playing our games. If we can do it for nine holes, we can do it for the entire tournament.

Coach's quote, "Talent and skill is not what that is holding this team bac
