Q: Why did you choose to attend Wake Forest?
A: I chose Wake Forest because it is a good mix of an awesome school, challenging academics and an amazing field hockey program.

Q: You still have over a year left of school, but have you put any thoughts into your plans after graduation?
A: I am not completely sure yet. I want to find a job somewhere, and I might go abroad for a year. I am studying business and enterprise management with a minor in Spanish, so I think I could use those skills if I went abroad.

Q: You've already set new personal records for goals, assists and points this year. To what do you attribute your success this season?
A: I think I've been able to show my skills a lot more in the midfield. I put a lot of hard work in the spring season and then again in the summer to get in good shape so I could play to the best of my ability this fall.

Q: What do you say is the first thing that someone new to the game needs to know about field hockey?
A: It is a very team-oriented sport, and it is all about structure and where your teammates are in relation to you. This is important so you have the ability to string passes together. It's also a pretty aggressive and fast-paced sport that has a lot of action.

Q: What are your team goals and your individual goals for the rest of the season?
A: Our team goals are always to win the ACC and national championships. I think those will come through a lot of hard work this season. Our motto is to always play on Sundays because that is when the championship games are played. My individual goals are to just be strong on the ball in the midfield and to always be a distributor for my teammates.

Q: Head coach Jennifer Averill was inducted into the NFHCA Hall of Fame earlier this year. What makes her such a great coach?
A: Jen's a very motivational leader and she always empowers her players to play to the best of their ability - not only for themselves but for the betterment of the team. I think she inspires us to work hard and to always give it our all. She's a naturally gifted leader and coach, and people always want to play well for her and for the program.

Q: What is your team's biggest strength this season?
A: We are a pretty cohesive team. We don't have specific individuals who we always have to rely on. Everyone contributes in their own way and brings something different, and I think that makes the team stronger as a whole.

Q: What is your biggest strength as a field hockey player?
A: I think my strongest asset is being able to see off-the-ball movement and see where all of our players are. That helps me be a good distributor from the midfield.

Q: What is your best memory as a Wake Forest field hockey player so far?
A: Going to the national championship was my favorite memory. Being able to represent your school at such an amazing level is awesome, and it's also nice to look back and to know that all your hard work paid off during the season. Even though we didn't win, it was an amazing memory to be able to play in a championship game.
