Sarah Brobeck Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District

WINSTON-SALEM, NC - Wake Forest field athlete Sarah Brobeck has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Women's Track & Field Academic All-District first team as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday.
To be eligible for academic all-district honors, a student-athlete must be at least of sophomore standing, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher and have participated in at least 50 percent of the competitions.
Brobeck, who is a Salem, Ohio, native had a solid indoor season with a personal-best toss of 40-00.75 in the shot put at the New York Armory Duals and a season-best 38-00.00 in the weight throw at the UNC Invitational. During the outdoor season, she recorded personal-bests in all three of her events. She notched a 40-09.75 in the shot put to finish seventh at the Georgia Tech Invitational last month and also won the shot put at the Clemson Orange and Purple Classic with a toss of 40-07.50 a week earlier. At the Spec Towns Open in early April, Brobeck had a personal-best toss of 119-07 in the javelin en route to a fourth place finish while also finishing seventh in the discus after a personal-best 129-07.
Brobeck has also excelled in the classroom as the chemistry major currently holds a 3.92 cumulative grade point average.
The first team members from the eight districts will now be placed on a national ballot which will be voted on between June 8-15. The Academic All-Americans will then be announced on Thursday, June 24.
