LOUISVILLE, KY. - Senior Emily Cummings competed in the NFHCA Division I Senior Game at the University of Louisville's Trager Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The 39 participants faced off against one another and against the U.S. Women's National Team in four 25-minute periods.
Cummings, a native of Johnson City, N.Y., is a three-time member of the NFHCA All-South Region team after earning first team honors in 2007 and 2010 in addition to being named to the second team this season. She also earned All-ACC Tournament team accolades following the 2010 conference tournament.
The versatile redshirt senior, who can play at both the midfield and forward positions, finished the season with five goals, just narrowly missing her career-high mark of six that she set during her freshman season in 2007. Her best game of the year came in Wake's 7-1 victory over Delaware when she recorded the lone hat trick of her career.
For her career, Cummings finishes with 76 starts in 81 appearances for the Deacons. Four of her 13 career goals were game-winners, with the most recent coming against Radford on Oct. 18 after she scored the first goal in what would become a 5-0 shutout. Although she did not record an assist in 2011, she had nine in her career with a season-high of seven in 2010. In total, Cummings will finish her collegiate career with 35 points.
The ACC was well-represented in the contest, with seven participants from four different schools. Jemma Buckley and Melissa Vassalotti represented Maryland, Meghan Dawson and Elizabeth Stephens competed for North Carolina and Stefanie Fee and Rhian Jones of Duke rounded out the ACC's competitors. Genna Kovar of Hofstra, who finished as the nation's leading scorer with 28 goals, was also among the 39 participants.
