Deacs Travel to Face Davidson on Tuesday Evening

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - No. 16 Wake Forest will go on the road for just the second time this season as the Deacs travel to nearby Davidson, N.C., to face the Davidson Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
The Demon Deacons (4-7, 1-2 ACC) will be looking to bounce back from a 3-2 double-overtime loss to Ohio in their last time out, while Davidson (6-6, 4-0 NorPac) enters as a winner in four of its last five contests, including three in a row, after defeating Longwood 3-2 in a shootout last Friday.

Jess McFadyen enters the game as the leading scorer for the squad in both goals and total points. The Wellington, New Zealand, native has collected seven scores this season, including both of Wake's goals against Ohio, and has posted 16 total points. Those marks tie her career-highs in each category.
Four Deacons have already matched or bettered their point totals from the 2011 season. McFadyen, Taylor Rhea, Molly Murphy and Tyra Clemmenson are all grouped in that category, and Anna Kozniuk's assist against Ohio guaranteed that she will finish with consecutive seasons scoring double-digit points.
Recent history in the series has been very kind for Wake Forest. The Deacs have picked up 18 straight victories against the Wildcats dating back to Sept. 19, 1993. Over that same time span, Wake has scored fewer than four goals just three times, while Davidson has been held to three or less each time out. Overall, the Deacs lead the series 29-17-2.
In the latest edition of the series, Wake claimed a 7-1 victory on Oct. 11, 2011, in Winston-Salem. After facing a one-goal deficit early, the Demon Deacons rallied behind two goals each from Lizzie Rae and Kari Walkley, while Rhea, McFadyen and Kaitlin Piosa each added a single score of their own.
Next up for Wake Forest will be a trip to face No. 21 William and Mary (10-4, 3-2 CAA) in Williamsburg, Va., on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. and a home slate on Sunday afternoon at 12:00 p.m. against Louisville (8-6, 1-2 Big East).
