WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Incoming Wake Forest freshman Sydney White earned All-USA honors in the pole vault from the USA Today on Friday. Criteria for the award includes ranking on national lists, number of top performances and results from competition.
A native of Kernersville, N.C., White earned the distinction for a vault of 13-3.5 (4.05 meters) at the USA Track & Field Junior Championships back in June when she placed second.
She recently competed in the IAAF World Junior Championships in Barcelona, Spain where she placed 20th in the qualifying round. A graduate of East Forsyth High School, White is a four-time North Carolina state pole vault champion and a four-time All-American.
