Deacs Set to Compete in Hilton Garden Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field team will head to the Hilton Garden Invitational this Friday in Winston-Salem after a strong showing at the Hokie Invitational last weekend.
After finishing in third and fourth place in the 600m dash last weekend in the Hokie Invitational, teammates Michael McEnany and Kyle Eager will compete in the 800m dash for the Demon Deacons at the Hilton Garden Invitational. On the women's side, Brianna Dekine and Kendal Knous will run in the 800m dash and look to repeat their first and second place finish in the 600m last weekend.
In the 200m race this weekend, Delkine and Myesha Barr will represent Wake Forest. Barr will also run in the 400m dash for the Demon Deacons.
Katie Adair and Sydney White are slated for the pole vault after they both set a new school record in event last weekend with vaults of 3.83 m.
In the triple jump and long jump, senior Erin Brooks is set to compete for the Demon Deacons. At the Hokie Invitational, Brooks finished fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 11.99m. Montasia Golden will also compete in the long jump after a jump of 5.75m gave her a fifth place finish in Blacksburg, Va.
Wake Forest sprinter Daniel Harrison finished in third place in the 300m dash last weekend and will race in the 400m dash at the Hilton Garden Invitational. His teammate, Malcolm Nunley will run in the 200m dash and the 60m hurdles.
Nyki Caldwell is scheduled to represent the Demon Deacons in the high jump this weekend after finishing with her personal best jump ever of 1.77m. On the men's side, Michael Ruffrano will compete for Wake Forest in the high jump.
A recap of event performances will be posted on Friday evening and on Saturday following the competitions on WakeForestSports.com. Next weekend, Wake Forest track and field will travel to Blacksburg, Va. to compete in the Virginia Tech Elite Meet.
