BLACKSBURG, Va. -Sophomore Nyki Caldwell was the lone representative of Wake Forest track and field at the Virginia Tech Qualifier this weekend and posted a career best in the high jump with a mark of 1.79m (5'10.50").
It was the fifth time this season that the Michigan native headed to the Rector Field House in Blacksburg, Va. for a competition and the fifth time she has seen her performance improve.
Caldwell earned her second first-place finish of the season Saturday as she leaped for a new personal best. After a 1.78-meter jump at the ACC championships last weekend, Caldwell is 0.20m short of the school record of 1.81 meters set back in 1995 by Trina Bindel.
The track and field team heads outdoors next weekend in the CCU Invitational taking place in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
