Wake Forest Heads to Raleigh Relays

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - On the heels of the HPU VertKlasse Meeting last weekend, the Wake Forest track and field team will compete in the Raleigh Relays at NC State beginning on Friday and continuing on Saturday.
Mytoia Gathings will run in the 100m and 200m followed by Myesha Barr and Brianna Dekine who will compete in the 400m. Montasia Golden will run the 100m hurdles for the first time in the 2013 outdoor season. Golden will also be in the 400m hurdles.
Meredith Kilburn, Samantha Jones, Kathleen Darling, Nicole Irving and Kaitlyn Oliver are set for the 5000m run while Aubrey Waggoner and Ashley Brubaker will be in the 1500m.
Nyki Caldwell highlights the high jump field while Katie Adair competes for Wake Forest in the pole vault. Erin Brooks and Golden are in the long jump with Brooks competing in the triple jump.
Jessie Merckle who set the school record in the javelin during the Wake Forest Open two weeks ago will throw this weekend.
On the men's side, Daniel Harrison will run the 400m with Sean Lunkenheimer running the 400m hurdles. Kent Garrett, Alexander Rose, Conner Crowley and Brian O'Toole will compete in the 5000m run with Jake Graham and Nate Guthals scheduled for the 3000m steeplechase.
Ryan Horgan, Anthony Marois and Kyle Graves will run in the 1500m. Thomas Bojanowski, Michael McEnany and Graves are in the 800m. Tylor Harris and Steve Michaelsen will look to continue their success in the shot put while Michaelsen and Wooten will throw the discus. Wooten will compete in the hammer throw.
School-record holder in the javelin, Ben Lincoln will compete in the event this weekend with Patrick Donelan and Aiden McConnell.
Wake Forest returns to action next weekend at the Auburn Tiger Invitational beginning on Friday, April 5.
