Deacs Travel to Auburn Tiger Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest track and field heads south to the SEC this weekend to compete at the Auburn Tiger Invitational hosted by Auburn University. The meet will feature ACC-rival Clemson and future conference member Louisville. Competition will continue through Saturday evening.
Jessie Merckle and Ben Lincoln will both be competing in the javelin this weekend. Merckle is top in the ACC in the event while Lincoln who set the school record in the javelin at the Wake Forest Open is top in the conference with a mark of 75.36m.
Nyki Caldwell is set for the high jump in which she finished second in last weekend at the Raleigh Relays.
Katie Adair and Sydney White are on the docket for the pole vault. The duo has continued to set high marks throughout the indoor and outdoor season. Adair holds both the indoor and outdoor school records in the pole vault with this being her first year at Wake Forest.
Erin Brooks, Erika Martin, Brianna Dekine and Myesha Barr are all scheduled for the 200m while Dekine and Barr will run in the 400m as well.
Brooks will also be in the long jump and triple jump. Martin will join her in the long jump while Montasia Golden will compete in the triple jump.
Michael Mastanduno will compete in a variety of events including the 100m and the 200m. Alexander Rose, Ryan Horgan, Anthony Marois, Thomas Bojanowski and Kyle Eager will run the 800m. Daniel Harrison will run the 400m for the Deacs.
Nate Wooten and Steve Michaelsen will throw the discus while Wooten will compete in the hammer throw and Michaelsen is scheduled for the shot put.
Patrick Donelan and Aiden McConnell will join Lincoln in the javelin while Martin will compete in the javelin with Merkcle.
Wake Forest heads to the Aggie Invitational next weekend in Greensboro, N.C. and the Joe Hilton Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C.
