Adair Sets School Record in Pole Vault

Georgia Tech Results | UVA Challenge Results
ATLANTA/CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.- Wake Forest track and field continued to compete in last chance meets on Saturday following meets on Thursday and Friday. The Demon Deacons were represented at the Georgia Tech Invitational for the second straight day while a few Deacs traveled to the UVA Challenge in Charlottesville, Va.
Each meet served as one of four last-chance NCAA First Round East Regional qualifiers that the Demon Deacons will take part in this weekend. The top 48 declared athletes in each region per event qualify for the NCAA First Round Meets, which will take place May 23-25 in Greensboro, N.C. The top 12 athletes from each region then advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., from June 5-8.
Final regional rankings and qualifying marks will not be released until later next week, following the conclusion of all last-chance qualifying meets.
Georgia Tech Invitational
Women's Pole Vault
Katie Adair set a new school record in the pole vault with a mark of 4.02m on Saturday as she finished in first place. She beat her old record of 3.95m that she set earlier this season. Adair is currently tied for 19th in the east region.
Men's Discus
Steve Michaelsen recorded a throw of 46.05m in the discus on Saturday. Michaelsen is currently ranked 48th in the east region for the discus.
Women's High Jump
Nyki Caldwell registered a jump of 1.75m which placed her third in the meet. Caldwell is in the top-48 in the east region after her jump of 1.77m from earlier this season.
Women's Triple Jump
Erin Brooks put up a mark of 12.30m on Saturday in the triple jump. Her mark of 12.80m from the ACC Championships has her at 19th in the east region.
UVA Challenge
Women's 5000m
Nicole Irving finished fourth in the 5000m with a time of 16:15.35 which is a personal best for Irving. Kaitlyn Oliver took 10th with a time of 16:42.98. Samantha Jones finished 17th in a time of 17:03.07.
Men's 5000m
Alexander Rose finished with a time of 15:24.11.
