Wake Forest Welcomes Virginia and Richmond

• Wake Forest returns home this weekend to host a pair of teams from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• The Demon Deacons welcome fourth-ranked Virginia on Friday at 6 p.m. and will take on Richmond at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Kentner Stadium.

Last Time Out

Shannon Eby scored the game winning goal in the second overtime against American on Sunday in the Deacs' dramatic 3-2 win over the Eagles.
Anna Kozniuk scored on a penalty stroke in the first half and Holly Brown scored in the second half as the Deacs led 2-1 until American tied it up in the last minute of the game.
• Eby tallied her first goal of the season in the opening minutes of the second overtime on a breakaway to give Wake Forest the win.

Wake Forest Storylines

• Wake Forest remained at No. 15 in the latest NFCHA poll. The Deacs were ranked No. 18 in the preseason poll.
• The Deacs are 4-0 at Kentner Stadium this year, outscoring opponents 15-5 during that time.
Holly Brown has registered a point in four consecutive games and has scored four goals in the past three games.
Anna Kozniuk leads Wake Forest in points with 13 and has five goals for a team-high. She also has two defensive saves this season and is 2-for-2 on penalty stroke opportunities.

• Wake Forest trails Virginia 19-16 in the all-time series.
• The Demon Deacons won 14-straight games from 1999 to 2008.
• Virginia is currently ranked fourth in the country and holds a 9-1 record on the season. The Cavaliers only loss on the season came to No. 1 North Carolina as the Cavs fell 2-1.
• Elly Buckley leads Virginia with 11 goals while Caliegh Foust has eight on the year. Goalkeeper Jenny Johnstone has a 1.26 goals against average.
•Richmond has a 4-4 record on the season but has won four-straight games after dropping the first four. Two of the losses came in overtime while the Spiders fell to Virginia in a stroke-off.
