Lazarchick and Thompson Capture First Place Finishes

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest track and field teams finished up the Hilton Garden Invitational on Saturday at the JDL Fast Track.
1 Mile Run
Kathryn Lazarchick captured a first place finish with a time of 5:03.93 with Tessa Riley placing in eighth (5:08.50) and freshman Sarah Fahmy placed in 33rd with a time of 5:19.48.
Men Heptathlon
Alex Krall secured an eighth place finish in the heptathlon with a total of 4,364 points.

Long Jump: 5.41m (463)
Shot Put: 11.83m (596)
High Jump: 1.70m (544)
60m hurdles: 9.33 (675)
Pole Vault: 4.30m (702)
1,000m Dash: 3:02.00 (645)
Women Pentathlon
Freshman Alyssa Thompson secured a first place finish in the pentathlon with a total of 3,667 points. Senior Erika Martin placed second with a total of 3,411 points.
Weight Throw
Charlie Ionata led the Deacs placing fifth with a mark of 17.94m, Teddy Mottola in tenth with a mark of 16.32m, Kyle Johnson in 11th with a mark of 16.31m and Nate Wooten placed in 13th with a mark of 15.91m. Freshman Casidy Callahan represented the women placing in fourth with a mark of 16.92m.
Triple Jump
William Ray placed 23rd with a mark of 12.91m.
Long Jump
Senior Michael Mastanduno placed 19th in a four-way tie with a mark of 6.49m. For the women, Julie McCauley secured a 29th place finish with mark of 5.01m and Amy Collins placed 34th with a mark of 4.96m.
High Jump
Nyki Caldwell captured a first place finish with a mark of 1.75m and Amy Collins secured a tenth place finish with a mark of 1.60m. Sophomore Michael Rufrano secured a sixth place finish with a mark of 2.00m.
Pole Vault
Sydney White placed second with a mark of 3.65m with Katie Adair securing a fourth place finish with a mark of 3.65m. Scott Marshall placed in fourth with a mark of 4.90m.
Next weekend, Wake Forest track and field will head to Blacksburg, Va. for the Virginia Tech Elite Meet.
