WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest dropped two games to No. 14 Clemson on Saturday as the Tigers won the first game 16-6 and the second game 7-4 in ACC play.

Will Craig homered in the first game to extend his hitting streak to 14 games but went without a hit in the second game of the doubleheader. Charlie Morgan had three RBIs in the first game while Matt Conway had two RBIs in the second game. Grant Shambley had four hits on the day with three in the first game.

Wake Forest (13-8, 3-3 ACC) recorded 14 hits in the first game but Clemson (12-6, 5-1 ACC) limited the Demon Deacons to just five hits in the second game.

Game 1 Recap:
Clemson jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the first game and eventually defeated Wake Forest 16-6 in the first game. Craig hit a home run in the game while Morgan had three RBIs going 2-for-5 with a run. Conway and Stephens each had an RBI each.

After a scoreless first inning, Clemson plated a run in the first to lead 1-0 going to the bottom of the inning. Craig homered with one out to right field to tie the game at 1-1. The Tigers responded with four runs in the top of the third inning and added two more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to lead 9-1 heading into the bottom of the fifth.

In the fifth, Wake Forest scored after Morgan doubled to left center scoring two runs. Conway then singled to center field to score Morgan to make it a 9-4 Clemson lead.

Nate Mondou singled to start the sixth inning and was followed by Kevin Jordan who walked. After Garrett Kelly was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Stephens singled to bring home Mondou. Morgan singled with one out to make it a 9-6 game but the Tigers scored one in the seventh and six in the ninth inning en route to a 16-6 victory.

Tyler Slaton had four RBIs to lead Clemson while Jay Baum had three. Matthew Crownover earned the win on the mound for the Tigers.

John McLeod (2-1) took the loss for Wake Forest while Parker Dunshee, Nate Jones, Mark McCoy, Matt Pirro and Will Finley each pitched in relief. McLeod struck out three and gave up six earned runs in the loss.

Game 2 Recap:
Clemson scored first in the second game with one run in the top of the second on an RBI double from Jon McGibbon.

The Tigers added a run in the fifth and three runs in the sixth to lead 5-0. Wake Forest narrowed the game in the bottom of the sixth inning as Morgan grounded out to second scoring Kelly. Conway then singled to left field to score two runs. Later in the inning, Mondou had a sacrifice fly to score a run and bring the Deacs within one run.

Clemson though responded with two runs in the seventh to make it a 7-4 game and then closed the game out.

Conway was 2-for-4 in the game with a run scored. Shambley recorded a hit to give him four hits on the day after going 3-for-5 in the first game. Conor Keniry and Kevin Jordan also recorded hits in the night cap.

Connor Kaden took the loss for the Deacs on the mound as he went 3.1 innings, giving up an earned run with two strikeouts. Max Tishman, John McCarren, Connor Johnstone and Aaron Fossas pitched in relief.

Chris Okey had three RBIs while Tyler Krieger had two for the Tigers. Jake Long earned the win on the mound for Clemson.

Wake Forest is back in action on Tuesday when the Demon Deacons travel to Davidson with the first pitch at 6 p.m.
