Thompson and Cyphers Lead Deacs at Texas Relays

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Freshmen Alyssa Thompson and Sophomore Michael Cyphers competed for Wake Forest on the second day of the 87th Clyde Littlefiled Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium on Thursday.
Thursday Results
Women
Freshman Alyssa Thompson secured a 12th place finish in the heptathlon out of 22 participants with a total of 5,135 points.
100m hurdles: 14.73 (878 pts)
High Jump: 1.60m (736 pts)
Shot Put: 9.14m (473 pts)
200m: 24.74 (911 pts)
Long Jump: 5.65m (774 pts)
Javelin: 36.57m (602 pts)
800m: 2:22.42 (791 pts)
Men
Sophomore Michael Cyphers placed tenth in the pole vault section "B" University/College with a mark of 5.05m in a field of seventeen participants. His mark of 5.05m matches the current school record that Cyphers holds in the event.
The Wake Forest track and field team heads to Raleigh, N.C. to compete in the Raleigh Relays March 28-29.
